What is G10?
G10 Is a fiberglass laminate type material or also known as a composite material.
It is commonly made by layering up sheets of glass cloth soaked in epoxy resin and compressing it under heat until the epoxy cures.
This creates a super strong, stiff material with a low thermal expansion, excellent electrical and water resistance, flame retardant and stable.
Made in large sheets which are then cut down into smaller sheets, blocks and scales for knife-making as well as many other industrial uses like chip boards, insulators and other mechanical applications that require sheets of material with stability strength at low cost.

G10 Features and Benefits
- Hard, dense, stable and wear resistant composite material made from layers of glass fiber laminated together with resin
- Makes for an extremely durable knife handle material and is commonly used on production knives, especially modern folding knives
- Can be finished with texture for grip or sanded to 600 grit then buffed to a fine polish revealing the very fine chatoyant layers of glass fiber
- Approximately twice as heavy as wood and 35% heavier than micarta
- Currently available in black, blue, tan-desert, purple, pink, orange, red, toxic green, toxic yellow and white
Note: dust protection is a must when cutting, grinding and sanding G10 as the dust produced will contain small glass fibers.
