Victron Lynx Smart BMS 500
The Lynx Smart BMS is a dedicated Battery Management System for Victron Lithium Smart Batteries. This device forms the core of a Victron lithium battery system. The main battery switch can be used as an isolator or failsafe device. All lithium cells are monitored for under or overvoltage conditions. Charge and load sources are controlled so that the cells are maintained in a safe zone. A smart battery monitor is also included. The Lynx Smart BMS is part of the modular Lynx Distribution system.
Lynx Smart BMS Features:
- Built-in 500A contactor, used as a fall-back safety mechanism and also available as a remote controllable main systems switch
- Battery monitor, indicating state of charge percentage and more data.
- Pre-alarm signal: provide a warning before the system shuts down due to -for example- a low cell.
- Bluetooth for use with the Victron GX device, for example the Cerbo GX.

The Lynx Distributor contains a positive and a negative busbar. The positive busbar has four fuse protected connections with fuse monitoring. The negative busbar has four connections and a ground connection. It is part of the Lynx Distribution system.
The Lynx Distributor has a power LED and four fuse status indication LEDs.
If connected to a Lynx Smart BMS, up to 4 Lynx Distributors can send fuse status information to the Lynx Smart BMS. This feature is not available when connected to a Lynx Shunt VE.Can. If the Lynx Distributor is connected to a Lynx Smart BMS it can be monitored and setup with the VictronConnect App.

The Victron MPPT SmartSolar support Advanced Maximum Power Point Detection. Unlike the conventional MPPTs which tend to lock to a local MPP when shady conditions occur, [which may not be the optimum MPP], Advance Maximum Power Point Detection will harvest maximin energy by locking to the optimum MPP.

An optional plug-in LCD display/control provides live-data, set-up and management, straight from the face of the device. Simply remove the rubber seal that protects the plug on the front of the controller, and plug-in the display.
