Each UNI-SOLAR US-64 solar panel uses United Solar’s proprietary Triple Junction amorphous thin fim silicon cells. The cells are made in a patented continuous roll-to-roll deposition process on a flexible stainless steel sheet. The result is a unique, flexible, light-weight cell. The modules are exceptionally durable. They are encapsulated in UV-stabilized polmers and framed with anodized aluminum. A Galvalume steel backing provides stiffness. The polymer encapsulation includes EVA and fluoropolymer Tefzel, a DuPont film similar to Teflon. Bypass diodes are connected across each cell, allowing the modules to produce power even when partially shaded.

Thin-Film Panels perform much better in low-light conditions, and under partially shaded conditions compared to Mono-crystalline and Poly-crystalline panels.
So if reliable solar performance is what your after, thin film panels are must!
However the drawback is that they produce much less power for the comparable size, and typically have a higher open circuit voltage (Voc).Info to be aware of:

Please note that on used panels, as leads are quite often cut when the panels are being pulled down, they may be shorter than normal and extensions may be required. Solar extension leads come in a variety of pre-made lengths and can be purchased separately as follows: 1 meter 2 meter 3 meter 4 meter

Kaneka’s new hybrid amorphous-silicon solar panels generated watt-power is approximately same as that of other crystalline silicon solar modules during the winter, but in summer the Kaneka Hybrid generates more power compared to many other crystalline silicon PVs. The combination of thin-film polycrystalline silicon and amorphous silicon help to “trap” light and offer improved conversion efficiency. These solar panels also use a lead-free solder.
