ABOUT THE POSITION

As a Branch Manager, your primary responsibility will be to manage the daily operations of our Welshpool site. Your primary responsibility is to assign and direct all work performed in the branch and to supervise all areas of operation while maintaining a strong focus on providing excellent customer service and driving the overall profitability and productivity of the location and the team. 

We’re seeking a manager who takes a hands-on approach, you are a leader who believes that developing the skills, knowledge, and behaviours of your team is critical to success. You will have had previous retail operations leadership experience and demonstrate attention to detail in rostering, the daily/weekly/monthly accounting procedures, reporting and financial obligations of the business and be able to report to the senior managers and directors of the business with the financial position and the stock holding of the business. Having a passion for outstanding customer service outcomes will see you deliver sales targets and KPIs.

You will be commercially and analytically minded as well as be a driven individual who is passionate about retail and logistics. You will be proactive, ambitious with a can-do attitude and consider your communication and relationship-building skills to be your key strengths. You will be able to work autonomously as well as effectively within a small team environment.

About you

To be successful in this position, you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Highly organised, with strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task 
  • Technically minded with an ability to grasp new concepts quickly
  • Enjoys customer service with experience in retail operations management
  • Experience in dealing with customer issues and conflict resolution 
  • Someone who is not afraid of getting their hands dirty, working alongside their team
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Comply with all WH&S regulations and applicable laws
  • A positive mindset that can engage and motivate a team 
  • Proven experience in mentoring teams 
  • Proven leadership ability 
  • Evaluating employee performance, formal performance reviews, and providing feedback.
  • Bring out the best of the branch’s personnel by providing training, coaching, development, and motivation.
  • Recognising employee achievements, encouraging excellence in the work environment, and rewarding through the company bonus structure. 
  • The ability to run and analyse daily reports and work with the team to action and follow-up tasks 
  • Attention to detail in processing invoices, purchases, and receipting of incoming and outgoing stock 
  • Ability to prioritse, work unsupervised with a good sense of responsibility

Alt-Tech offers off-grid solar solutions (and much more) for anything from a simple setup on your 4WD to keep the beers cold, to a tiny house somewhere off the beaten track, to a farm or station that has been running for years on a gennie.

We are always looking new members to join the sales team, nothing pushy, just good old fashioned service in our huge warehouse of toys.

You will need a basic understanding of DC power, and a willingness to learn.

Solid base rate plus commission

Spend your day with solar/ batteries of all types (lithium/lead carbon/etc) Victron products and all sorts of cool “toys”.

This role is suitable for someone with a very solid knowledge of DC, ideally with an electrical or engineering background or passion. Qualifications are not necessary as long as you have a solid knowledge and formal or informal experience working with electronics.

The role will include:

  • Testing, assessing and sending off warranty items etc.Support ticket assessment and resolution (technical support)
  • General customer service

With potential for:

  • Designing bespoke systems
  • Research and development
